POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Remote Data Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you will collect, clean, analyze, and interpret data to support business decisions and client projects. You will work closely with consulting, finance, and leadership teams to generate insights, create reports, and build dashboards. This is a full-time, remote position. You will work from your home office and must be available during business hours. You will receive training and support from senior team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect and organize data from multiple sources (internal systems, client data, public sources)
- Clean and prepare data for analysis
- Identify trends, patterns, and insights in business data
- Create regular reports and dashboards for internal and client use
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of reports
- Maintain and update existing reports as business needs evolve
Client Support & Collaboration
- Support internal teams with data and analysis for client projects
- Assist with financial and operational data analysis for clients
- Respond to ad-hoc data requests from internal stakeholders
- Present findings in a clear, actionable format
- Collaborate with accounting, tax, and advisory teams on data-driven insights
Process & Tool Development
- Develop and maintain data collection and reporting processes
- Recommend and implement improvements to data workflows
- Stay current with data analysis tools and best practices
- Document analysis methodologies and processes
- Assist with training team members on data tools as needed
TYPICAL DAY IN THIS ROLE
- Review incoming data requests and prioritize tasks
- Extract and clean data from internal systems
- Run analysis and generate reports
- Meet with team members to discuss findings
- Update dashboards and ensure data accuracy
- Respond to ad-hoc analysis requests
- Document processes and suggest improvements
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts)
- Basic knowledge of SQL or willingness to learn
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Good communication skills to present findings clearly
- Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, business, economics, or a related field is preferred
- Reliable internet connection and dedicated home office space
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
